Error: Failed to sparse content in column

JDeryckeJDerycke Member Posts: 1 Learner I
Hello everyone,

I just started using Rapidminer. When I tried to import data from Excel, I got an error notification. Does someone knows what this means and what I can do?
This is the error notification I received:
And this is an sample of the column 'CASES'

I think <5 is the problem, but I rather not delete any instances, before doing data analysis and cleaning.

Thank you very much for your help!

hi @JDerycke yes that sounds like the problem. Just import that column as nominal first, then get rid of that < sign with a Replace operator, and then use Parse Numbers to make it numerical.
