Documentation or Tuts for File > Create Custom Operator

I am in 9.9, and have an idea for a custom operator.  I want to play around with what might be possible, but I am struggling to find any documentation or tutorials on how to create one for File > Create Custom Operator. 

However, I am certain that I am missing something.  Any help very much appreciated here!

There is a community thread which gives a brief introduction into the usage of the Custom Operator Extension.

The scope of the Custom Operator Extension is everything that you can build with existing operators, if you want to incorporate third party libraries you might want to have a look at https://docs.rapidminer.com/latest/developers/extensions/
