How much memory should RM 9.9 allocate when starting without extensions?

When I start RapidMiner without setting any limits for the JVM it allocates 19GB of memory. Is that an intended behaviour?

    Hi,

    Where did you check that? Because you may mix up two different things:

    1. This is the actual memory that is being used, as reported by the Windows Taskmanager in this case:


    2. And here is the potentially usable, maximum memory that Studio will try to allocate if needed:


    The 2nd one is the theoretical maximum Studio would try to get, but as you can see from the TaskManager, it is not actually taken yet.

    I am using the Windows Resource Monitor
    I have just started again and the process uses 9 GB of main memory.
    And the task manager output:

    Btw, these are the number after restricting the memory limits.
    An now without a JVM memory limit:
