I have a quick simple question. I've installed the 64-bit version on Windows 7 however when I run Rapidminer I see it running as a 32-bit application. Is there anyway to switch to the 64-bit version?

Hi,
the RapidMiner.exe is always identified as a 32bit program, however RapidMiner is a Java program, so the javaw.exe matters. Even though the taskmanager says "RapidMiner.exe *32" here, I still have 4GB of RAM available in RapidMiner, which would not be possible if it was not the 64 bit version You can see how much memory RapidMiner uses by activating "View" -> "Show View" -> "System Monitor". If you do want to increase memory, you can start RapidMiner via the /RapidMiner/scripts/RapidMinerGUI.bat, which you can edit and set the MAX_JAVA_MEMORY variable yourself.

you can use the installer for RapidMiner. Then you shouldn't have to configure any environmental variables.
Best,
Nils
